I spend much of my time throughout the day gazing outside at the squirrels and other animals interacting with each other in our courtyard. The squirrels all have unique personalities and ways about them but the one thing they do have in common is their ability to blend into a tree when danger lurks. "Make Like A Tree" is an attempt at honoring these little friends. The goal was to have the viewer see this painting as a tree, only to further study the painting and realize this was no ordinary tree. In fact, not a tree at all, but a group of squirrels playing a trick on all of us.
